This is what happens when you put royals into google translate and go from english to spanish to french to italian to russian back to english. Can you tell I’m bored?

Let’s Talk About: V Magazine 88th Music Edition

I highly suggest everyone grab a copy of this magazine if you haven’t yet. I had never even heard of V magazine before picking up this issue, but I’m so glad I found it. Every once in a while they put out a music edition, this being one of them, obviously. Although, I will warn you, I ordered mine and when it came in I thought it was a textbook. It’s huge. 

This issue features a lot of cool artists, but does a double page feature on HAIM, Lorde, Say Lou Lou and BANKS. All artists that I am very interested in right now. It was great to hear about all of them and read official interviews. Especially for Say Lou Lou, since they are not very big in America right now. That was very brief, but I guess I will say I’m withholding the details so you have to read it. Mwahaha. 

Over the next couple months I am going to the Lorde concert, HAIM concert and two music festivals that I absolutely can not wait to review/write about/discuss with all of you. So my apologies if my posts have been a bit lackluster recently, I am saving my energy (jk, but kinda seriously). Also, like the rookie I am, I just discovered you can include pictures in text posts, lol. Exhibit A ^^. Go me! I’m moving up in the technology world people! I bet you thought I was 80 didn’t you? Well surprise, I’m 19! PLOT TWIST.

Let’s Talk About: This Year’s Festivals

The festival circuit this year is quite interesting, in my opinion. Coachella’s lineup is the best I’ve seen in several years, brining in acts like Lana Del Rey and Lorde. On the other hand, I find most of the other festivals are lacking in quality. The circling headliners this year seem to generally be Jack Johnson, Outkast, Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters etc. I think these artists are all incredibly talented, but not exactly what I was hoping for. However, it does seem that the lower tear acts this year are the highlights. HAIM, Avicii, Neutral Milk Hotel etc.

Interestingly enough, one of the festivals I think has a good lineup this year is the Big Guava Festival in Tampa, Florida. I had not even heard of this festival until this year, but with the quality acts they’re bringing in, it caught my attention. Vampire Weekend, Foster the People, Girl Talk, HAIM, 21 Pilots, etc.

I guess no one will ever be truly happy with one particular lineup. The festivals that bring in a lot of EDM acts, the attendees complain that there is not enough variety. The ones with more of a vast lineup of acts see complaints about a lack of EDM. I wish it could just be about the experience. Certainly I would like to see a few more of my favorite bands at the festivals I’m going to, but it’s more about the process of listing to the music in a crowd of fellow music lovers for me. One day I will make it to Coachella, though, it’s on my bucket list so obviiiiii it’s has to happen. lol.

Let’s Talk About: Oh So Many Things

1. Sorry I have been on a very very brief hiatus, I have found myself to be extremely busy the past few days/ weeks (who knew there was life outside of blogging?) Thanks for sticking around! 

2. The Grammys- Hmmm…. how do I feel? I’m not quite certain. I am so glad that Lorde received all of the accolades that she deserved! I also thought the Kendrick/ Imagine Dragons performance was absolutely incredible, which came as a complete shock to me because I typically am not fond of rap/rap performances. I’m also happy Lana Del Rey received some notoriety with Cedric Gervaisis (sp? Yo no sé) remix of Summertime Sadness.. even though it was not technically her winning the award (but shhh no one needs to know). 

3. FINALLY FOR MY NON MUSIC POST- AHS: COVEN FINALE…. I CANNOT PEOPLE I JUST CAN’T.
